In this report, the car display was done in 45 degrees angle parking. It lets me be possible to photograph the cars in 2 standard angles of views. I also shoot some interesting features on some of the cars like back views and convertible interiors.
The beautiful 1961 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato shows a a 2 long bumps on hood, a double-bubble roof, a trademark that Zagato
will transport through the decades. The car offers a very small weight compared to its predecessor.
The car was premiered at the London Auto Show in 1961.
The cars presented:
- 1961 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato (Ultra-Lightweight DP209 Specification "1 VEV")
- 1961 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato
The Aston Martin V8 Zagato was unveiled in 1986 at the Geneva Motor Show. It got the squarer look like the regular Aston
had back in the days! 52 coupes and 37 cabriolets of this modern body were built between 1986 and 1990.
In 1988, a variant prototype was developed with the headlights covered like on the silver body colored car.
The cars presented:
- 1986 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Zagato (Dark green)
- 1988 Aston Martin V8 Volante Zagato Prototype (Silver)
- 1989 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante Zagato (Yellow)
The Aston Martin DB7 Zagato was presented in world premiere of the Paris 2002 Mondial de l’Auto for the Coupe and at the
2003 Los Angeles Auto Show for its convertible version called DB AR1. 99 units were produced plus 1 for the Aston Martin
Museum.
I had the opportunity to see this car in coupe version for the 1st time at the 2006 Le Mans Classic.
The cars presented:
- 2004 Aston Martin DB7 Zagato
- 2004 Aston Martin DB AR1
The 2004 Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Roadster Prototype was presented the same year at the Geneva Motor Show in
Switzerland.
The rear section has been reworked by Zagato to give it a more exciting look. A double-bubble glass section refers to the roof design developed by Zagato over the
decades.
The car presented:
- 2004 Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Roadster Prototype
The 2012 Aston Martin V12 Zagato is actually a car for those who want to go fast on road racing circuits. The car got a big opening
between the front wheels and the doors to get hot air out quickly!
The car made its world premiere unveiling at the Villa d'Esté Elegance Concours in Italy that same year. I saw that car
for the 1st time at the 2016 Greenwish Concours.
The cars presented:
- 2011 Aston Martin V12 Zagato (Racing - "Zag") (Red)
- 2012 Aston Martin V12 Zagato (Black)
The 2013 Aston Martin DBS Centennial were cars manufactured in a single copy by of bodywork style that are 3 in number, the coupe,
cabriolet, and shooting break.
So it's a very rare public appearance I was allowed to attend. The coupe version was in the hands of a Japanese owner back in 2019.
The top front hood section looks like 2017-2023 Mazda vehicles. I think Mazda designers got inspired from that design! My favorite is the shooting
break!
The cars presented:
- 2013 Aston Martin DB9 Zagato Spyder Centennial (Metallic
Green)
- 2014 Aston Martin Shooting Break Zagato Centennial
(Silver)
The stunning 2017 Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato was presented in 3 steps during the 2017-2018 years. Zagato designers were very inspired got the car offered in 4 body styles. Only 99 units of each has been produced make them more valuable and exclusive.
I saw my 1st 2018 Aston Vanquish Zagato of this series at Rétromobile back in 2019.
The cars presented:
- 2017 Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Coupe
- 2018 Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Volante
- 2018 Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Speedster
- 2018 Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Shooting Break
My favorite body style of the 4 is again the Shooting break version!
That's it for that very special and interesting unique commemoration between Zagato and Aston Martin that can be seen only at a prestigious Concours d'Élégance like the Hampton Court Palace Concours of Elegance !
The cars were well chosen like a museum curator who chooses artworks from legendary artist !
