BMW ET FERRARI BRILLERONT AU CONCOURS D’ÉLÉGANCE DE GREENWISH
Greenwich, Conn., le 23 mai 2016. Le Greenwich Concours d'Elegance organise son Concours annuel Americana le samedi 4 Juin et Concours International le dimanche 5 Juin.
BMW and Ferrari Shine at Greenwich Concours d’Elegance
Greenwich, Conn., May 23, 2016. The Greenwich Concours d’Elegance hosts its annual Concours Americana on Saturday, June 4 and Concours International on Sunday, June 5.
BMW célèbre son 100e anniversaire au Concours de Greenwich, le dimanche 5 Juin avec une exposition de voitures historiques spectaculaires, y compris une super rare BMW 328 MM Bügelfalte 1937.
Superbe et rapide, ce roadster haute performance a participé aux 24 Heures du Mans 1937 et au Mille Miglia 1938 avant d'être démantelé en 1939 par la division de course de l'usine de BMW en préparation pour la saison de course suivante; modifications du châssis, des améliorations techniques et innovations dans la conception aérodynamique de cette voiture.
Elle a décroché la sixième place dans les années Mille Miglia 1940 avant que BMW soit rappelé à Munich en raison de l'escalade dans la Seconde Guerre mondiale.
La guerre a vu Bügelfalte changer de propriété de BMW au ministre allemand Albert Speer; saisis par les Russes comme des réparations de guerre, la voiture a été échangé à un collectionneur letton qui l'a conduit à Munich pour des soins réalisé par BMW, avant le transfert ultérieur à d'autres propriétaires.
Un collecteur du New Jersey exposera la Bügelfalte au Concours International du dimanche.
BMW celebrates its 100th anniversary at the Greenwich Concours on Sunday, June 5 with a display of spectacular historic examples, including a super-rare 1937 BMW 328 MM Bügelfalte.
Stunning and fast, this high-performance roadster competed at such venues as the 1937 24 Hours of Le Mans and 1938 Mille Miglia before being dismantled in 1939 by BMW’s factory racing division in preparation for the following racing season; chassis modifications, engineering upgrades and aerodynamic design innovations clinched this car.
It finish at the sixth place in the 1940 Mille Miglia before BMW recalled it to Munich due to escalations in World War II.
Wartime saw Bügelfalte ownership shift from BMW to Nazi German Minister Albert Speer; seized by the Russians as war reparations, the car was traded to a Latvian collector who drove it to Munich for care by BMW before subsequent transfer to other owners.
A New Jersey collector will generously show the Bügelfalte at Sunday’s Concours International.

"Gagner le dimanche, vendre lundi" était la motivation pour la production de promos d'homologation, des voitures de compétitions légale pour la route vendus en quantités limitées par les fabricants pour se qualifier en compétition. Des exemples significatifs, tels que la Lancia Stratos Coupé 1975, la Porsche 924 Carrera GTS Clubsport 1980, la BMW M3 Sport Evolution 1990 et la Mercedes-Benz 190 Evo2 Sedan 1991 sera également au menu du Concours International du dimanche.
Le Concours Americana du samedi célébrera le 50e anniversaire de la victoire de Ford aux 24 Heures du Mans 1966, avec un cercle de voitures Ford de performance dont la Ford GT40 Mk IV 1967 de James Glickenhaus que Mark Donohue et Bruce McLaren ont ramené à la quatrième place au Mans cette année-là.

Concours Americana on Saturday will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ford’s 1966 victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with a circle of Ford performance cars; James Glickenhaus’ 1967 Ford GT40 Mk IV that Mark Donohue and Bruce McLaren steered to fourth place at Le Mans that year headlines the group.
